Mother’s Day Thoughts
I know that Mother’s Day is not always easy. I am debating on sharing a video on Facebook where I talk about that. It’s there on my phone in all of it’s rawness. But, man that takes courage to just put it out there.
Because I know as a Mother I’m not always taking care of myself 364 days a year much less even 365 days a year, I want encourage you if you have been thinking about getting a membership, or gifting a membership, to Fit2B, to check out their Mother’s Day Sale that they are running for the first time in years!
The Mother’s Day Sale is until May 16th and you need the code: mothersday25off
Caring for Others
I know that I need to take care of myself so I can take better care of my family. Most mothers are in this scenario.
I just gave my 12 year old my former sneakers because she needed sneakers and they hurt my feet so they had only a few miles on them. It is what we do as Mom’s.
It doesn’t matter if they are a new mom, a mom of teenagers, or a grandmother. Our culture has lost the support that was there generations back, and remains yet a focus in other cultures.
It’s often how fast can you get back to work, or get your body back. It’s not learning how to rest, to take time to take care of yourself, letting others help.
Those three things apply at both sides of life.
It’s not going to be seen as a bad thing to give a mom a gift of a safe space to take care of herself. Any of these gift ideas from Fit2B will steer you in the right direction.
So think of someone you can help. What about your mom? What about your friend who is struggling with balancing motherhood and life?
Caring Can Be Hard
And if Mother’s Day is hard for that someone and you are trying to figure out how to approach it. Remember this.
Even if her little one is flying high and she doesn’t have him or her to hold, she is still a mom. She still needs to care for herself after the loss.
I really wish Fit2B had been around when I was in that space. I’m glad that in my experience I can support others in the group because although I haven’t had a miscarriage, I know what it is like to have a loss.
Mother’s Day can be hard y’all. But a gift towards starting to care for yourself better is one way to help.
p.s.
Don’t worry I did buy a new pair of sneakers for me. Walking is my goal this summer. A 5K walk by July. Whether these will work or not? We shall see.
