It’s October, Some Catching Up
I can’t believe it’s October already. I have started so many different blog posts in my head, and couldn’t get them actually written down so there is some, make that a lot, of catching up that I need to do here. In many ways they feel like the leaves in this picture as they pile up and swirl around.
So In Brief… Catching You Up Some
How am I?
Well surgery has occurred and one thing I will be catching up here on the blog is some posts both from before surgery and then posts after surgery (like post surgery day #) . Today is actually day 41 post surgery. I want to make sure I get this surgery documented and write out some things as I still process the surgery and my recovery in the hopes it will help someone else who might be reading and trying to find answers.
It seems so much of the medical things that have happened in our family seem to lead to helping someone else, I can’t not share. But today is not the day for that.
How is Homeschooling Going?
It is going. We are getting more subjects reliably into the day. There are still many times in a day I want to just curl up on the bed and no longer adult but that happened sometimes before the surgery. Now that urge is sometimes just partially there because I’m in pain.
We started our homeschool year on August 1st exactly for this reason. It allowed me to count some of the days prior to surgery for schooling for this quarter and allowed me to give myself the time I needed to take it easier on some days. The girls are coming around to doing more of their independent work without being asked (yeah!) and complaining less when I say it is time to work with me.
Some have wanted to do start some of the schooling sooner, but I just couldn’t do it yet. Those two have been very patient with me.
What Grades Are the Girls In Again?
This year we have a 6th grader, 4th grader, 1st grader and a preschooler. Trust me that preschooler can be very insistent that she wants to do her schooling too!
What Can You Expect to See here Soon?
- My journey as I restart through Fit2B and the exercises that I have started with post-surgery and why.
- Some exciting news on Fit2B, shhhhh, I’m previewing a course that I am soooooo excited about! Remember I have four girls right?
- Our homeschool curriculum choices for this year as I try to balance the approach I want to use and the needs I have as I recover which can mean a completely different approach.
- Posts talking about life before surgery
- Posts talking about how life has been or specific things since surgery … it has been a rough road some days.
Overall things are going. I’m working slowly day by day to try to get ahead. I found my desk yesterday, that was a feat. I drove my van today and more importantly it passed its inspection. Yeah!!!
But on that happy note it is getting late, and I have one asleep already and need to get the others headed off to bed. So trust me, I will be back real soon.
I have soooo much to share.
Blessings
