Fit2B=More Than Fitness a Membership
I know I post about Fit2B a lot. I do this because Fit2B is for me so much more than “just” a fitness membership. I feel like I need to explain that a bit here.
{Please be aware links below are affiliate links providing my family a small financial amount if you decide to purchase something from Fit2B.}
Since I found Fit2B on some blogger’s post about diastasis recti, I have learned so much.
I have learned that diastasis recti can be long after pregnancy, and can in fact happen when someone has never been pregnant. Even kids and guys can have the abdominal separation.
I have learned that surgery doesn’t have to be the only option to fix it. Some may need it, but not everyone.
I have learned to trust myself and listen to my body even when medical professionals have told me I was wrong. Not a spoiler if you have been reading regularly but in case you are new, I was sadly right and they were wrong … more than once.
I have learned that I can be part of a community supporting others all over the world, as these same women supported me. Supporting me as I have grieved about needing surgery. As I have mourned at the slowness of recovery. As I struggle in getting exercise in through the craziness of motherhood and homeschooling. I seriously do not know what I would do without the forum of support that I have through my Fit2B Membership.
I have had a membership to Fit2B since 2014. I think I started with a monthly membership for a while and then I switched to a basic yearly membership. In 2016 I switched to the premium membership. I know I spoke about the different levels of membership in a post a few years ago but I wanted to put my why Fit2B and that here in one post that was not related to a particular sale.
Monthly Membership
I do know I did have a monthly membership for a while. Money was too tight to spend more than a few bucks a month at a time. I had already watched the video on checking for a diastasis and realized I had a pretty large one. Like an eight fingers plus wide one… cue shocked face here. It had been there prior to my last pregnancy even began. But that was when I was told by medical professionals you could only have a diastasis when you were pregnant, not years after … incorrect.
- Pro’s for a monthly membership: It is only a little bit each month and the cost comes out automatically as a recurring order so there is nothing to remember to sign up for. It also gives you a way to try it out.
- Con’s for a monthly membership: You end up paying more over the course of a year as a monthly member. You also have to pay for the additional courses like the 5×5, Neck Challenge, Girls Course, etc. separately.
Basic Yearly Membership
The yearly membership is great if you are thinking you just need the basics, the membership only and not the additional courses. It gives you access to all the workouts in the A to Z listing. There is no start up fee when you sign up for this as it is built into the membership cost. It is only for one year and does not automatically renew. You also get access to a few of the courses, MEA 1, MEA 2 and Foundational Five.
- Pro’s for a yearly membership: It is only for one year. So if you want to try it out with a bit of savings from the monthly plan this is the best way. You can think of it like your gym membership. The one you have to drive for, and usually don’t. But it is only for a year so you think why not try? This is where this membership tier comes in.
- Con’s for a yearly membership: It is only for one year. 🙂 You also have access to only some of the additional courses and have to pay for some like the 5×5, Neck Challenge, Girls Course, etc. separately.
Premium Membership
The premium membership is where you have your highest cost savings and all the perks. You have access to every workout and every course. There is an automatic renewal at the cost you purchased the course for… so if you join with a membership fee of $99 you keep that fee for life. The renewal rate does not change even when more content is added. This is huge for my cost benefit analysis. Just in the past year there have been the Girls Course, the MEA courses (there are 7) added alone. I know there are going to be more as the years go on.
- Pro’s for a premium membership: you don’t have to remember to renew. You don’t have to watch for the latest sale to keep your low membership cost. You have access to all the courses and workouts. You also have access to Fit2B on Roku if you have one. No more watching a video on your phone or laptop or trying to figure out how to get it up on the bigger screen by casting it with some other piece of hardware.
- Con’s for a premium membership: hmmmm….. this is a hard one to come up with something. The only thing I can think of is depending on other yearly costs you have at the time you are joining you might be a little tight that month. (For example my membership renews the same month my amazon prime membership renews.)
I also like a yearly membership in one form or another as it is all too easy when the bills start adding up at the end of a month to put myself last and say oh I just won’t do this that month. Usually I will cut something for me, not another member of the family. Having a yearly membership means I’m not making that emotional choice at a likely really bad time.
Additional Bonuses
Usually when you pay for a gym membership it is only for you, or only for the spouse. Rarely can find a gym that has something the whole family and lets the whole family, including the babies, come. At least where I live that would be considered a unicorn (as in it doesn’t exist).
My husband can use Fit2B. In fact he has tried some of the challenging workouts and found them quite sweat inducing. I am not there yet so I hadn’t explored them, he wasn’t sure if they would challenge him enough. He was laughing when he found he could not yet do some of the moves.
My girls can use Fit2B. In fact we use the workouts in Fit2B as a part of our Homeschool PE program and will be including the use of the Girls Course as Health.
Sometimes it is just for fun and getting out some of the wiggles using Princess Moves or Wiggly Warriors (favorites of the youngest). I mean just look at the videos aimed at just the kids! Some of the names alone crack me up, and watching my kids have fun when I couldn’t do much of anything, as I healed or had a bad day, gave me a much needed smile.
I am determined my girls are going to grow up to be stronger than me. I want them to have a strong core. I want them to know it is okay to advocate for themselves.
Fit2B is part of my self-care. It is me taking time for me, taking time to remember I’m more than a mom who does taxi services, short order cook, and teacher.
You can always look at the A to Z listing of workouts and try out a workout in red for free.
For me remembering that my time doing workouts on Fit2B is not being selfish, it is me taking care of me so that I can take care of my family.
