Dreamy things with Taxes
I don’t know about you, but about this time of year I’m stalking the bank account, wondering when our tax money will arrive. I often dreaming of things that will never be that I wish I could use it for and I thought it would be fun to share what has been on my dream list this year. Although there are ten of them, there is not any particular order, it was really just as I thought of them while typing.
1. Scrapbox
Oh the dreams of getting my craft items organized and out away in a lovely looking system that could be closed when I’m not using them. I lost my craft space about baby number three, and this has been in my list virtually since then.
2. Fit2 B Membership
If I needed to renew, now would be an excellent time to renew as there is going to be a sale on Friday!! Clicking on this link will bring you to the A to Z page and the magenta red routines are actually ones you could try right now without being a member. There will not be another sale I’m told until October.
But… Did you know there were some giveaways live right now? You can win a Tummy Team membership, 5×5 membership, Unshoes, a Squat Potty and more! You should really go over and enter to win as a part of the birthday celebration for Beth.
3. Ju Ju Be Diaper Bag
I am in desperate need of a new diaper bag as I try to get out more with the girls. Our current system is an LL Bean backpack which kind of weird but is ripping and needs to be sent out to be repaired soon. I’ve been looking at Ju Ju Be’s since Miss C was toddling around (she’s 11) as I think I might have found them online just after Miss L was born. But after my husband lost his job a few short months after her birth we just couldn’t swing it.
Why one of these bags you might ask? I love the fact they are washable. Completely machine washable. If you’ve ever had a child throw up on or near the bag, or are like me living in the northeast you have snowy, muddy, boots kicking against the diaper bag … then the fact the bag is machine washable is a an understandable appeal.
I still can’t decide between the two styles, Be Right Back (BRB) or BFF. The BRB, is just a backpack but the BFF can be worn both as a backpack and as a messenger bag so either of us could carry it easily. In my dreams I’d have one of each! 🙂
4. New Phone for my husband
This is one of the only ones that will become a reality. He has been nursing his phone for over six years. The buttons don’t all work as they should, he can no longer update the operating system, and even simple apps are starting to require more than his phone can do. Since he travels all the time, having a working phone is necessary for my piece of mind.
5. Some self-care
A few massage and chiropractic sessions would be heavenly. Some new clothing items that are wearing out, particularly some of the necessities.
6. A new computer for me
My computer has been nursed for almost 10 years and although was a great one at the time, it is now having trouble. Some days just hitting a link to download a file can cause it to work hard and appear to hang for 5-10 minutes. Since we homeschool, I want to get back into digital scrapbooking, and I volunteer for my ABW newsletter … downloading files happens quite regularly. So this frustration happens a few times a week easily. This one hubby is pushing for.
7. Curriculum for the girls
Even in the midst of this school year, I have to be thinking ahead to next year for what we want/need as I try to find deals wherever I can. I’ll have another post with things we are looking for for this coming year.
8. A new mattress
Our current mattress is 15 years old. Add in there five kids, co-sleeping at least a little with each. Lots of wrestling and tickling as we play with the kids, and one who currently likes to use it as her own personal trampoline, it has done a lot. My back and hips would love to replace it.
9. A Vacation
We have not been on vacation since Miss F was little and family took us on vacation. I remain forever grateful for the that vacation during the stressful time of unemployment. It has been way too long since I have walked the sand with the ocean waves curling around my feet. No matter what way you look at it, a vacation for a family of six is not cheap.
10. Shoes
We all need shoes, except perhaps the baby. (The advantage of having all girls, the hand-me-downs just keep going.)
In the Fit2B forum there has been a lot of talk about minimal shoes. I live in bare feet around the house. My bad ankle is better than it used to be. I’ve found wearing shoes can actually aggravate it so getting a pair of more minimal shoes (which are rarely cheap) would be wonderful, especially as the weather gets better I dream of walking more with the girls.
What about you?
Who knows, maybe I’ll make a post of what we will actually be doing with the taxes, although that one will be a lot more practical and not as fun to dream about. What do you have on your list of things you would love to do with the taxes? Even if it won’t really happen it is fun to dream… just like me with most of my list. 🙂
Blessings,
